This study enables robust localized deformation by introducing topological characteristics into an asymmetric linkage system, in which adjacent unit cells are connected through torsional springs. Similar to the one-dimensional SSH model that has served as a foundational framework for mechanical topology, the proposed system exhibits a zero-frequency edge mode in the form of a floppy mode, while still allowing linear kinematic motion. This unique combination distinguishes the system from conventional 1D topological models and suggests its potential as a new modeling framework for topology-based impact mitigation and energy-absorbing structures, where robustness and controllable localization are critical.
