Sustaining long-term human habitation on Mars requires deployable habitats with low packaging volume, structural robustness, and multistability—features, lacking in conventional inflatable structures. Here, we introduce an origami-based dodecahedral structure that achieves quadruple stability with deployability, high packaging efficiency, and modularity for adaptive habitat design. We present a theoretical model and experiments confirming its multistability, and further validate feasibility through a large-scale prototype and modular assembly demonstrations. Beyond space habitats, this volumetric origami offers new possibilities for robotic systems, metamaterials, and wave dynamics applications.
