This study uses reprogrammable hinges that allow the rotation axis to move within modular structural units, realizing kinematic characteristics that cannot be achieved with conventional hinges with fixed rotation axes. Using this approach, it is shown that the shape reconfiguration range of the modular structure can be increased. In addition, a foldable modular structure is designed by applying the principles of thick origami.
